Advice and support

Our digital solutions make things intuitive and more efficient. We help services and partners use digital effectively.

About the Digital Experience Team

The team is made up of three digital and content experts. We work closely with Digital First, ICT and other services to deliver the objectives from our strategy and support your projects.

We bring on our digital partner(s) when additional knowledge is needed to deliver the right digital experience solution.

If you need advice or support with a particular project, use our web request form at Requests and feedback.

Identifying a digital direction

What are the challenges I want to overcome? What solution should I implement? Who is my audience? What will be the outcomes? How are we going to deliver it? How much is it going to cost? These are some of the fundamental questions that drive our strategic process when scoping for a new digital solution.

Defining a clear strategy is the bedrock of any project we undertake. It gives us the direction to invent or reimagine our digital offering and we do this by understanding our audiences, their goals and the challenges they could face. The insights gathered combined with our expertise are then used to set digital objectives and form the core of a project roadmap that shapes the subsequent creative phase.

We can provide the following services:

  • Digital direction and strategy
  • Market research
  • Forward plan and technical recommendations.

Creating digital experience solutions

Using a blend of practices, we bring digital platforms, websites and web applications to life through a finely tuned process and make sure both customers and organisational needs are met.

We put the understanding of our customers at the heart of the process, ensuring we create user-focused digital experiences that connect with them.

In most of our projects, we focus on the simplification of the digital experience, removing complexity and replacing with relevant, modern experiences that work well and are enjoyable to use.

Practices include:

  • Persona development
  • User journey mapping
  • Content architecture
  • Content creation and optimisation
  • Wireframing and prototyping
  • User testing
  • Web development and hosting.

Communicating with our users

With so many touchpoints for people to interact with the Council, from websites to social media and emails, our digital platforms must be backed-up by some strong communication functionality to reach our users.

Here we apply various communication mechanisms to make sure the right content and online services are reached and consumed by the right people, at the right times, and for the right reasons.

We can help with:

  • Digital paid advertising
  • Email automation
  • Programmable chat development
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).

Training colleagues and partners

People are central to the success of our strategy. We want to share our expertise in building and maintaining digital experiences. Training will be developed during the implementation of the strategy and take place in different shapes from how-to articles to face-to-face training sessions.

Topics covered:

  • Analytics
  • Content production
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
  • Social media management.

Supporting your needs

You can find out more about how we prioritise requests and levels of support available by reading our Support policy.
